Your rights matter: Disability accommodation in the workplace
Accomodation Rights is dedicated to advancing awareness, accessibility, and fair accommodation practices for workers experiencing psychological, emotional, and physical disabilities in the workplace. Our platform is built on shared lived experiences, public information, and advocacy-based learning from injured workers who have faced systemic barriers and challenges within workplace, insurance, and accommodation processes.
We are not lawyers, legal professionals, or medical providers, and the information shared on this website is intended for educational, advocacy, and peer-support purposes only. Nothing on this website should be considered legal advice, medical advice, or professional representation.
By sharing real-life experiences, practical insights, and lessons learned from injured workers, we aim to provide meaningful support, guidance, and empowerment to individuals navigating difficult accommodation and return-to-work situations. Our goal is to help workers feel informed, heard, and better prepared to advocate for their rights and wellbeing.
Our story: Advocating for workplace fairness
Our journey began with a commitment to addressing the systemic challenges injured workers often face while navigating employers, insurance systems, and administrative processes, including organizations such as WorkSafeBC and the BC Human Rights Tribunal. We believe every worker deserves to be treated with dignity, fairness, procedural accommodation, compassion, and respect throughout their recovery and return-to-work journey.
Through shared lived experiences, advocacy-based learning, and public education, we aim to provide workers with meaningful support, practical guidance, real-life resources, and connections to helpful contacts and community supports. We bring real workplace accommodation issues into public awareness by sharing the experiences, barriers, and lessons learned by injured workers who have navigated these systems firsthand. Our goal is to help individuals feel less isolated, more informed, and better equipped to advocate for themselves and their wellbeing.
“This website provides advocacy information, educational resources, peer-support guidance, and general public information regarding workplace accommodation rights and disability-related barriers. Our mission: Empowering injured workers
We aim to provide accessible resources, advocacy tools, accommodation guidance, and public awareness for workers living with psychological, emotional, and physical disabilities arising from workplace injury, trauma, and systemic barriers. Our focus includes mental health injuries and conditions such as PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related conditions, and workplace-triggered psychological harm that can profoundly affect a person’s dignity, livelihood, recovery, and ability to safely participate in employment and legal processes.
Through education, lived experiences, community-based support, and advocacy-focused awareness, we strive to help injured workers better understand their rights, communicate their needs, and navigate complex systems with greater confidence and support. By bringing real stories and real challenges into public awareness, we work to promote accountability, accessibility, procedural fairness, and meaningful accommodation for all workers. Our mission is to ensure that no injured worker feels silenced, ignored, or alone while seeking dignity, recovery, and justice.
